Mouses, mouses, everywhere!

If they want fast mice, they should come to my house. We must have the fastest mice in the world. Even the cat can’t catch em. Stories like this one kind of get to me… our house is in the middle of a field area, so we of course get mice. We are always trying to get rid of them. But THESE people WANT the darn things. Go figure.

Look out for that light at the end of the tunnel…

I couldn’t pass this one up. This is an old Pathe News clip showing a very interesting form of recreational transportation. Given the problems we have today with air traffic controllers screwing up, it’s probably just as well that this one never got off the ground, so to speak. Putting cars on railway tracks makes an interesting theory, though.

Killing Off Last Year’s Excess Emotional Baggage

Well… alrighty, then. Personally, I can think of better ways to rid myself of excess emotional baggage. Like… just getting on with life. Going to a public place and running some ex boyfriend’s picture through a paper shredder just wouldn’t do it for me. But, hey, whatever works… I guess…

May the Fleas of a Thousand Camels… Oh, sorry!

Just taking a minute to step aside from the news, film clips and reviews to wish each and every one of you a happy and prosperous new year. 2008 is looking really promising to those of us in my corner of the good old U. S. of A., and I hope things are looking just as bright where you are. As everyone heads back to work or school tomorrow, just remember to keep the holiday spirit alive within yourself… even if you DO have to deal with rush hour traffic!

Cheers!

Helping You Help Others

Okay, so Christmas is over. Does that mean you are all done giving for another year? Christmas is a once a year thing, but people need help all year long. And I have just the thing that will both clean the unwanted vehicles and boats out of your yard AND help you help others.

BoatAngel, and it’s affiliate CarAngel, accept donations of unwanted cars and boats (and, I believe, even airplanes). They pick up the vehicles for free, and use them to help with their many juvenile-oriented programs. From rehab programs to free Children’s Animation DVDs, they do a LOT of good in this world.

How easy is it to Donate Boat or Cars? Very simple, indeed. You simply contact BoatAngel or CarAngel through any of the links provided here and make arrangements to have them pick up the unwanted vehicle. It’s that simple.

While you are deciding about whether or not to support this particular Christian charity, be sure and take a really good look at what they do. As an example, they have just finished a new DVD that stars world famous skateboard champions, that reaches out to kids in trouble, mainly drug trouble, in this case. This, and their other DVDs are available completely free of charge. They don’t even ask you to pay for shipping. These DVDs, and a lot of the other services that these organizations provide, have helped a lot of people, and they are able to do that because of generous people like yourself. To get started helping, just click this Donate my Boat link!

Merry Christmas, People!

Picked up an interesting bit of trivia about Christmas lately… well, Christmas related, anyhow. Did you know that “A Christmas Carol” wasn’t the only Christmas story Charles Dickens wrote? It seems that he actually wrote a new Christmas story every year, but none of the others gained even one shred of the popularity that that one did.

In any case, here’s wishing a Merry Christmas to you and your family, wherever and however you are choosing to spend it this year. Best wishes!

That’s Special Delivery, all right…

If you think YOUR mail takes a long time to get where it’s going, just be thankful that it doesn’t take ninety three YEARS. That was the delivery time on a Christmas postcard delivered on December 18 of this year. You know, it seems like there is one of these “lost Christmas card” stories every year, doesn’t it? If it weren’t for the time span involved, I would swear they are doing it on purpose, just to have a Christmas mail story to tell! Well, on purpose or not, it’s an interesting story!
